- 다음 세대가 좋은 삶을 살아가도록 돕는 것이 저의 미션(Mission) 입니다. 10대부터 80대까지 모든 세대를 교육으로 강의로 만납니다. 이 부분은 저만의 강점이기도 하죠.

청년의 작은 성취가 하나 둘 이루어져서 다양한 세대의 라이프 코치와 멘토가 되었습니다. 인생은 어떠한 메시지도 미리 알려주지 않습니다. 거기다 내게 주어진 시간이 얼마인지 알 수도 없습니다. 그게 바로 필멸적 존재인 인간의 모습이지요. 그렇다고 너무 불안해 할 필요도 없습니다. 모른다는 것은 호기심의 다른 말이기도 하니까요. 가능성은 늘 우연의 옷을 입고 찾아온답니다. 지금 보다 조금 더 궁금해 하고 유연성을 가져 보아요. 순간을 성실히 살아내면서 우리 모두, 나만의 이야기를 써나가는 겁니다. 여러분 모두를 온 마음으로 응원합니다.

로보트 태권 브이 세대, X generation, 신세대로 불리는 개성이 뚜렷한 이미지를 가졌다고 평가되는 친구들 사이에서 저는 너무나 멀리 살았습니다.
삶이란 눈이 부실 정도로 빛이 나는 아침도 아니었고 대학은 헤어져 떨어지는 합격자 게시판과 다르지 않았습니다. 내가 어떤 존재인지 그리고 어떻게 살아가야 하는지 말해 줄 사람도 없었습니다.
30년이 넘도록 아이들을 만나왔고 공학에서 문학까지 4개가 넘는 전공을 거쳐 오고 있지만, 최재천 교수님의 ‘통섭’이란 말을 이제야 실감하는 늦깎이 학습자가 바로 제가 아닐까 합니다.
“학교는 떠날 수 있어도 배움을 떠나서는 안된다.”고 믿었기에 대안학교를 세우고 아이들 곁에서 성장을 도왔습니다.
Personal Introduction
For over thirty years, I have walked alongside young people—learning as much from them as I hope they have from me. My intellectual journey has woven through engineering, literature, and beyond, accumulating more than four academic majors along the way. Yet only now do I truly grasp what Professor Choe Jae-chun meant by "consilience"—the profound art of integrating disparate fields into meaningful understanding. I am, in many ways, a late-blooming Learner, and I embrace this identity wholeheartedly.
I have long held that while one may graduate from school, one must never graduate from learning. Guided by this conviction, I founded an alternative educational institution and devoted myself to cultivating growth alongside children and youth. My path has led me through universities, corporations, schools, and community organizations—each environment deepening my reverence for the transformative power of learning itself. For me, learning transcends mere activity; it remains a lifelong wellspring of wonder and renewal.
숱한 우연과 사건들로 이루어지는 인생에서, 수많은 사람들을 통해 성장해 온 시간들이 지금의 저를 만들었습니다.
빨간색 라디오를 켜고 이종환의 ‘별이 빛나는 밤에’를 들으며 자랐지만 개코의 힙한 리듬도 전혀 어색해 하지 않습니다. 그래서 그런지 십대들의 멘토로 선생님들의 어드바이저로 지금도 살아가고 있습니다.
대학, 기업, 학교, 단체, 지역사회 현장 등을 강의로 교육으로 수없이 드나들며 한시도 놓을 수 없는 “배움”이란 낱말에 저는 경이로움을 느꼈습니다.

Through every role and transition, I have discovered that education is fundamentally relational—a dance between teacher and student where wisdom flows in both directions. This understanding has shaped not only my pedagogical approach but my entire worldview: that genuine learning occurs in the spaces between disciplines, in the conversations between generations, and in the courage to remain perpetually curious.
